Friends of St John the Evangelist School
Friends of St John the Evangelist School (FOSJ)
Friends of St John (FOSJ) are the Parent and Teacher Association (PTA) of the school. We organise social and fundraising events. The FOSJ is for everyone - parents, grandparents, guardians, friends and the local community.
Here are some of the things we do:
Committee: We are a large and friendly committee. We meet regularly to organise events and liaise with the school to help in any way that we can. We always welcome new members and volunteers.
Fundraising: We raise money to pay for the things the school cannot afford to do, for example, we subsidise school trips. This year we have also supported a “Verse and Arts” week, with visiting artists working with the children. We are now fundraising for an adventure playground.
Please let us know if you work for a company which matches funding. Every little helps!
Help us by registering with www.easyfundraising.org.uk. Visit their website before you shop and St John’s gets a cash reward for your purchases with lots of retailers including: John Lewis, eBay, Next and Tesco. For example, St John’s gets 50p for every Sainsbury’s internet shop you do.

Communication:
Notice board: This is on the wall on the corner outside the community room. We update it regularly. Look out for news on events and useful information.
Facebook group: Please join our Facebook Group “Friends of St John the Evangelist School”. We regularly send out messages, reminders and useful information. Use this group to ask questions. No question is silly - someone else will be thinking the same.
AGM:
Our Annual General Meeting is held each year in April. It is where we vote in our new committee, run through what we have achieved during the year, and what we want to achieve during the next.
We have a large group of volunteers and supporters, who help as little or as much as they can. You don’t have to join the committee!
Please come along and support us!
The members of the committee for 2018/2019 are:
Chair: Charlotte Gretton
Vice Chair: Ellie Bentham
Secretary: Jane Rabbiosi
Treasurer: Lynwen Wilson
Committee members: Emma Blackmore (Teacher representative), Stephanie Burroughs, Rachel Clark-Lee, Sally Gower, Lee-Ann Gibbons, Jon Hughes, Matthew Lawson, Allie Munro, Shelley Valdivia, Jo Snowball and Emma Chambers
